How the 10 KB compressor works
You choose the limit and the tool does the rest. It first tries to reach 10 KB by lowering JPEG quality step by step, keeping the highest quality that still fits. If the image is too large to fit even at a sensible quality, it reduces the width and height a little and tries again. The result is always a standard JPG file at or below your limit.
Where a 10 KB limit is common
Signature uploads are the most common case. Many exam, recruitment and scholarship portals ask for a signature between 10 and 20 KB, and some ask for a thumbnail photo of 10 KB or less. Older government and banking forms also keep very small limits because they store millions of applications.
Tips for a clean result at 10 KB
- Crop first. Cut away empty paper around a signature or extra background around a face. Fewer pixels means more quality per kilobyte.
- Use dark ink on white paper. High contrast survives strong compression much better than pencil or blue ink on grey paper.
- Check the pixel size the form wants. If it asks for, say, 140 x 60 pixels, resize to that first with the Resize Image tool.
Is my file private?
Your image is processed on our server and the original is deleted as soon as the compressed copy is made. The result is removed automatically after a short time. Nothing is shared or kept.
