The X (Twitter) header size
The header banner on an X (formerly Twitter) profile is 1500x500 pixels - a 3:1 strip across the top of your page. Upload something the wrong shape and X crops it, and your round profile photo overlaps the lower-left. This tool builds an exact 1500x500 header so it looks sharp on every screen and nothing important is hidden behind your avatar.
Crop to fill or fit
- Crop to fill covers the whole banner and trims the top and bottom - best for a wide landscape photo.
- Fit (blurred edges) shows the whole image centred with a soft blur on the sides - useful for a logo or graphic you do not want to crop.
- Fit (colour) places the image on a solid colour band.
Mind the avatar and crop
Your profile picture sits over the lower-left of the header, and X crops the banner slightly differently across devices, so keep text and key visuals toward the centre and upper-right. Start from an image at least 1500 pixels wide so it stays crisp. X accepts JPG, PNG and GIF; a 1500x500 image from this tool uploads cleanly. Everything runs on your device - nothing is uploaded here and there is no watermark.
