How this works
This is a real automatic cutout, not a manual crop: an image-segmentation model looks at the whole photo and separates the main subject from the background on its own. It runs entirely on our server - your image is never sent to a third-party background-removal API.
What it works best on
- A single clear subject - a person, product, animal or object - reasonably distinct from the background.
- Product photos for online listings, profile pictures, and portraits.
Where it can struggle
Fine detail like loose hair strands, fur, or a subject that blends closely into the background colour can come out with a slightly rough edge. There is no manual touch-up step in this version - if the cutout is not clean enough, try a photo with more contrast between the subject and the background.
Using the result
The output is a PNG with a transparent background, ready to drop onto a different background, a white product listing, or a slide. If you need it as a JPG instead, use the Image Tools to convert it (a solid background will replace the transparency).
