Edit PDF

Edit the existing text in any PDF, add text, images, shapes and highlights, white out what you don't need, and add, rotate, reorder or delete pages - free, in your browser.

Pick a tool, then click or drag on a page. Use Edit text and click any existing line to change it. Double-click (or tap twice) text you added to edit it. Drag the round handle to resize.

How to edit a PDF

1

Open your PDF - it stays on your device.

2

Pick a tool and click or drag on the page to add text, images, boxes or drawings.

3

Rearrange pages if needed, then download your edited PDF.

A PDF editor that keeps your file private

Most online editors upload your document to their servers. This one doesn't: the PDF is opened, edited and rebuilt entirely inside your browser, so contracts, bank statements and ID documents never leave your device. It also means there is no waiting for uploads - even large files open quickly.

What you can do

  • Edit existing text - click a line with Edit text to fix a typo, a date, a name or an amount. The new text matches the original size, colour and style.
  • Add text anywhere - fill in forms that aren't fillable, add notes, dates or names. Choose the font, size, colour and bold.
  • Add images such as a logo, stamp, photo or signature, then drag and resize them.
  • Draw boxes, lines and freehand marks to point things out, or highlight important passages.
  • Whiteout - cover text or details you want to hide with a white box, then type over it if you like.
  • Manage pages - rotate, reorder or delete pages, insert blank pages, or add the pages of another PDF.

Good to know

Your additions are saved as real PDF content: typed English text stays sharp and searchable, and the original pages keep their quality and links. Text in scripts such as Hindi or Gujarati is saved as a high-resolution image so it always displays correctly. Edit text and Whiteout cover the original visually - the old text is hidden, not deleted from the file, so it could still be copied out. They are ideal for corrections; for sensitive information that must be gone completely, delete the page or recreate the document. Scanned PDFs can be edited the same way - to make their text searchable, use OCR PDF afterwards.

Questions & Answers

Is my PDF uploaded to your server?
No. The whole editor runs in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded, so it stays private and nothing is stored.
Can I change the existing text in the PDF?
Yes. Choose Edit text and click any line: the original is covered with a patch in the page's background colour and you type the new wording in a matching size, colour and style. Very unusual fonts are replaced with the closest standard font.
Will the quality of my pages change?
No. The original pages are copied into the new PDF as they are, and your text, images and shapes are added on top.
Can I edit a password-protected PDF?
Remove the password first with Unlock PDF (you need to know the password), then open the unlocked file here.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Tap a tool, then tap or drag on the page. Tap a selected text box again to edit it, and use the round handle to resize.
