Merging PDFs cleanly: order, bookmarks and file size
What merging does
Merging places the pages of each source PDF one after another into a single new file. Selectable text, form fields and internal links inside each document are preserved. It is the standard way to assemble an application pack, a contract with its annexes, or a set of invoices into one file for archiving or sending.
Get the order right the first time
Arrange the files in the sequence you want before merging — the tool follows the order you set. If a document needs to be rotated or has blank pages, fix that in a split or organise step first, then merge.
Keeping the merged file small
The combined file is roughly the sum of the parts. If several of the sources are scans, the result can be large; run it through a PDF compressor afterwards before emailing or uploading to a portal with a size cap.
Common uses
- Job or visa applications that ask for one combined PDF.
- Signed contract plus schedules and exhibits.
- Monthly invoices or receipts bundled for accounting.
- Scanned pages captured separately and joined into one document.
Privacy
Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection and deleted automatically about an hour after merging. No account and no watermark on the output.
