Photo and signature for SSC online forms
The Staff Selection Commission runs CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable, Stenographer and JE recruitment, and every online application asks you to upload a scanned photograph and signature that meet an exact pixel size and a strict file-size limit. Uploads that are too large in KB, or saved in the wrong shape, are the most common reason the form will not accept an image. This tool crops your photo to the right dimensions and then lowers the quality step by step until the file is under the limit, so both requirements are met in one go.
The sizes SSC usually asks for
SSC applications commonly want a recent colour photograph of roughly 20-50 KB and a signature of about 10-20 KB, both in JPEG. Recent notices also require the photograph to be taken within a stated period and to show the candidate's name and the date printed across the bottom - a generic resizer cannot add that, so take the photo correctly first. The pixel dimensions shown here (200x230 for the photo, 140x60 for the signature) are typical values; your notice is the final word.
Tips that avoid rejection
- Use a plain light background and even lighting on the face.
- Sign in black ink on white paper, then crop tightly before resizing.
- Keep the photo and signature as separate files - never one combined image.
- Check the downloaded size is at or just under the stated KB limit.
Prepare the photo first, then switch to the SSC Signature preset and do the same for your signature.
