Photo and signature for the JEE Main application
JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to engineering programmes. Its application asks for a scanned photograph and signature, each in JPG within a set file-size range, and the upload screen rejects images that are too big or the wrong shape. This tool crops your image to the needed dimensions and compresses it in one pass so both are ready.
The sizes JEE Main usually asks for
JEE Main commonly accepts a photograph in a range of roughly 10-300 KB and a signature of about 4-30 KB, in JPG. As with other NTA exams, the photo should be recent, on a white or light background with the face clearly visible, and recent bulletins ask for the candidate's name and the date printed on the photograph. Prepare the photo correctly, then use this tool only to reach the pixel size and file size. The dimensions shown (200x230 photo, 140x60 signature) are typical; your bulletin is final.
Common JEE upload mistakes
- Photo larger than the maximum KB, so the upload fails silently.
- Signature too faint - sign in dark ink and crop tightly.
- Coloured or busy background behind the face.
- Uploading a photo without the required name and date.
Size the photo first, then switch to the JEE Signature preset for your signature.
