The easiest way to straighten accurately is to pick something in the image that you know should be perfectly horizontal or vertical in reality — a ruled line on lined paper, the top edge of a printed table, the straight edge of a printed form — and align the editor’s straighten tool to that, rather than trying to judge it by eye against the photo’s own edges, which may themselves be slightly uneven if the crop was not perfectly square to begin with.
