Passport & ID Photo Maker

Pick what the photo is for, crop it to the right framing, and we'll resize and compress it to the exact pixel dimensions and file-size limit that type of form usually asks for.

How it works

1

Upload your photo and pick a preset (or enter custom dimensions).

2

Drag the crop box to frame the shot.

3

Download - sized and compressed to match.

Why pixel size and KB limit both matter

Passport, visa, exam and signature uploads almost always state two separate requirements: exact pixel dimensions (so the photo prints or displays correctly) and a maximum file size in KB (so their system accepts the upload). Hitting only one isn't enough - resize to the wrong file size and a portal will reject it even if the dimensions are perfect. This tool does both in one pass: crop, resize to the exact pixels, then compress down to the size cap.

Always double-check against your actual form

The presets here reflect commonly published, typical requirements - but passport offices, embassies and exam boards do change their specs, and some ask for things a generic tool can't verify (a plain white background, no smiling, no glasses). Use "Custom" if your form states different numbers, and treat any preset as a strong starting point, not an official guarantee.

Signatures

For a signature, sign in dark ink on plain white paper, photograph it in even light, then crop tightly before picking the signature preset (or custom dimensions) - a clean, high-contrast source compresses much smaller than a shadowy phone photo.

Questions & Answers

What if my form's exact size isn't listed as a preset?
Choose "Custom" and enter the exact width, height and maximum KB your form states.
Can this remove the background from my photo?
No - this tool only crops, resizes and compresses. Use the Remove Background tool first if you need a plain background.
Why did my file not reach the KB limit exactly?
Compression works by lowering JPEG quality in steps until the file is at or under the limit - it will usually land a little under, not exactly at, the cap.
What if it still won't get small enough?
Crop in tighter first - a smaller crop with the same pixel dimensions compresses better than a loose one, since there is less fine detail to encode.
Is my photo kept after processing?
No. Both the uploaded photo and the result are removed from our server automatically after a short period.
